our new name: 4C Security Solutions

You may be wondering why you’ve arrived at the BQT site to see a new brand!  The detail behind our change in identity is all set out below:

As a special resolution, at the Company’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Monday, 23rd June, 2008, BQT shareholders voted in favour of changing the name of the Company to 4C Security Solutions Limited.

Background information

As part of the recapitalisation proposal, BQT shareholders accepted a capital investment from 4C Controls Inc.  The investment by 4C Controls Inc, will be delivered broken down as follows:

• $4 million dollars is being provided to BQT Solutions for the purpose of working capital requirements and for investor relations; public relations, company promotion and advisory services.
• $14 million dollars will be provided to BQT Satellites, which, will then be 20% owned by BQT Solutions Limited; 40% by 4C Controls Inc, and 40% by Prime Asset Finance.

4C Controls Inc and BQT have formed a strategic alliance which is anticipated to deliver revenues for both companies and their shareholders.  Furthermore, both companies expect the alliance to facilitate mutually beneficial global market development and provision of fully integrated security, surveillance, satellites and access control solutions for customers worldwide. 

Why change the Company’s name from BQT Solutions Limited to 4C Security Solutions Limited?

The change in name from BQT Solutions Limited to 4C Security Solutions Limited is designed to obtain marketing synergies through an international family of brands.  It is our expectation that with the planned public and investor relations efforts - as well as sales and marketing activities of both companies, the 4C brand family will swiftly develop substantial brand equity. 

Moving ahead, BQT Satellites Limited will also rebrand to 4C Satellites Limited, adding an extra brand under the 4C umbrella.

We anticipate benefits associated with the new 4C brand family will help all companies in the group compete in bigger opportunities, and penetrate more markets, delivering more to the bottom line. 

What is the brand story behind “4C”?

“4C” translates to “foresee” – or foresight, and highlights the objective that each of the companies within the 4C group has: to envision, and act upon opportunities in advance of competitors.

A new logo has been created for 4C Security Solutions.  We believe that it ties the BQT brand in with the 4C brand, in keeping with:

• The existing BQT brand recall, through use of the BQT waves, and
• The equity that 4C Controls has built in the 4C brand, via the 4C lettering and colours.

How will the brand update work in practice, and what about the equity the BQT brand has built?

As with any rebrand, there are a range of actions which need to be undertaken during the immediate future.  The major actions concerning shareholders are set out below:

• The listed entity’s name will change for trading purposes from BQT Solutions Limited to 4C Security Solutions Limited.  The name update will occur by close of business today, Monday, 30th June, 2008.
• The subsidiaries of BQT Solutions will change their trading names, so that “BQT” is replaced with “4C”. 
• A new logo has been created for 4C Security Solutions, and it will gradually be rolled out across our stationary and Company branded collateral.

Since BQT products have an excellent reputation in the security and surveillance market, we will continue to use the BQT brand for our products.  This will also limit the cost of rebranding to corporate collateral. 

In practice, shareholders can expect to see that BQT branded products will live under the 4C Security Solutions umbrella.
